How to Use an iTouch
The iPod Touch is a dumbed down version of the iPhone. It can connect to the Internet, play music, and anything else. However, it cannot be used as a phone. In other words, Apple took their iPhone, removed the phone capabilities and then released the iTouch. With this in mind, using an iTouch is very similar to using an iPhone. Once you get used to the touch screen, it’s very easy.
The first thing you need to do to use an iTouch is to plug it into your computer. If you don’t have iTunes, get it. However, while you are getting it, have the iTouch plugged in so that it can charge from your computer. Everything from the transfer of music to the charge all happens through the single USB cable, so it’s important that you keep it plugged in until the green bar on the front is completely filled.
With iTunes installed, sync the iTouch and iTunes. What this means is that you recognize that you own the iTouch and have it connected to your computer. Without doing this, you won’t be able to use the iTouch. So, sync it–which will happen automatically when iTunes in opened–and then transfer any music you want.
There are a series of buttons on the screen that you can push and manipulate. At the very bottom you’ll see four. This is called the dock. This is where you’ll be able to hit the Internet, go to the Apps store, check out your music and access your settings. Go to the Internet and punch in the WEP for your home wireless. This way, you can use the iTouch anywhere in the house.
The final step is to customize your iTouch. Go to Settings > General > Wallpaper and add an image to be used for your background. This will help customize the feel of the iTouch so that it really is yours.
If you want to buy an app on the iTouch, go to the App Store and buy it straight onto the iTouch. It’ll sync with your iTunes and if you have credits, it’ll use those and if you don’t, it’ll use the credit card on the account.
The best way to learn the iTouch, though, is to experiment with it and learn how everything works. To lock it, press the button on top. To turn up the volume, there are buttons on the side; however, you can also turn it up on the touch screen. All in all, the iTouch is one of the best MP3 players on the market.
