D-Link Default Password
D-Link is a computer equipment brand that specializes in producing networking devices such as routers, modems, and network storage devices. D-Link routers, in particular, are often found in both residential and commercial environments and a wide variety of individuals use them to maximize the potential of their Internet access. D-link routers often contain two or more wireless antennas, WPA encryption, and multiple Ethernet ports.
D-Link Default Password
Like most wireless devices, all D-Link routers are equipped with a control panel that allows users to change their settings, configure the router to work with other devices, and setup wireless security. In order to access this control panel, users can enter 192.168.0.1 into any browser’s address bar and enter the router’s default username and password, which can be found on the bottom of the device. If the default username and password are not printed on the bottom of the device, the user can enter “admin” for the username and leave the password entry blank or vice versa, as this is the typical login configuration for most D-Link routers.
How to Change a D-Link Password
If the user would like to change his/her D-Link password in order to prevent other users from accessing the router by entering the default password, he/she can do so by signing into the D-Link control panel and opening the Configuration menu. From there, the user can change his/her password by entering the old password and creating a new one. If the user cannot find the Configuration menu, he/she can run the Setup Wizard, which includes the same process.
How to Reset a D-Link Password
If the user has forgotten his/her password, he/she can reset the D-Link router by pushing any small, pointy object into the Reset button found on the bottom of the device. This will erase all data on the router and allow the user to access the router’s control panel by entering the default username and password.
