How to Change Vista Icons
As with any new operating system, sometimes even simple tasks can be confusing. If you would like to change your Vista icons, here are some simple steps:
First, a quick note regarding Windows Vista Icons. Windows Vista Icons have been given plenty of accolades for their design and beauty. Microsoft gave each window icon a 256 x 256 size instead of the smaller, lower resolution quality XP icons most people are used to.
In order to change an individual Vista icon, follow these tips:
- Once Windows Vista has booted up, right click on the desktop and select 'Personalize' from the menu.
- When you select 'Personalize' from the menu, on the left side of the next window you will see 'Change Desktop Icons'. Select this option
- Now Select the Vista icon you would like to change.
- Click the 'Change Icon' button to view the many available selections for your new icon.
- You can also browse any file or folders you have downloaded icons to.
- Now select the icon and your new Vista icon should be visible
Changing a Folder Icon in Vista
For those that would like to change a folder icon in Vista, follow these tips:
- Right click on a folder in which you would like to change its icon, select 'properties' from the menu.
- On the next menu shown, click on 'Customize' tab.
- Now simply click on the 'Change Icon' button at the bottom of this box. Your new folder icon should be visible
