DirecTV Phase I Satellite Dish
The DirecTV Phase I Satellite Dish was the original DirecTV dish. This is an 18" satellite dish with one LNB.
This dish can only receive signal from DirecTV satellites at 101 degrees.
DirecTV Phase II Satellite Dish
DirecTV introduced the Phase II Satellite Dish in 1998. The Phase II dish can receive signals from the DirecTV satellites at 110 and 119 degrees.
DirecTV Phase II Plus Satellite Dish
The DirecTV Phase II Plus Satellite Dish is very similar to the Phase II dish, except that it offers an additional LNB.
The third LNB enables the Phase II Plus dish to receive signal from DirecTV satellites at 110 degrees, in addition to the 101 and 119 degree satellites supported on the Phase II dish.
DirecTV Phase III Satellite Dish
DirecTV introduced the Phase III Satellite Dish in 2002. This dish can receive signal from DirecTV satellites at 101, 110 and 119 degrees.
DirecTV AT9 MPEG-4 Compatible Ku/Ka Band Satellite Dish
The DirecTV AT9 MPEG-4 Compatible Ku/Ka Band Satellite Dish is designed to receive signals from DirecTV satellites at 99, 101, 103, 110 and 119 degrees.
The DirecTV satellites at 99 and 103 degrees transmit on the newer Ka Band.
This dish is also designed to receive HDTV video compressed with the newer MPEG-4 compression.
DirecTV International Satellite Dish
The DirecTV International Satellite Dish is specialized for the reception of international and local market programming from DirecTV satellites at 95 degrees.
This dish is 87cm across, so you will need a bit more space to mount it.
This dish is normally used along with another DirecTV dish.
Aftermarket Satellite Dishes
In addition to these standard DirecTV satellite dishes, many other manufacturers offer satellite dishes which will work with DirecTV.
These aftermarket dishes often provide improved gain to better deal with rainfade.
