Netgear Default Password
Netgear is a leading manufacturer of networking devices such as modems, wireless routers, and network storage devices. Netgear also produces USB based modem cards and markets a wide variety of data plans for a number of Internet Service Providers. Millions of consumers in over one hundred countries use Netgear routers and other devices, which can be used for both residential and commercial purposes.
Netgear Default Passwords
As with any other router, all Netgear routers include a built-in control panel that users can access in order to change configuration settings, setup network security, or enable the router to work with other devices. Users can access this control panel by entering 192.168.1.1 into any browser’s address bar. The user will then be prompted for his/her username and password, which will be the default information printed on the bottom of the Netgear router if the user has never accessed this control panel before. If the default username and password are not printed on the bottom of the Netgear router, the user can enter “admin” into the username field and “password” into the password field in order to access the router’s control panel.
How to Change a Netgear Password
If the user would like to change his/her password in order to prevent other users from accessing the Netgear router by using the default information, he/she can do so by logging into the router’s control panel and opening the Configuration menu. From here, the user can change his/her password by entering the old password and creating a new one. If the user cannot find the Configuration menu, he/she can run the Setup Wizard, which includes the same option.
How to Reset Netgear Password
If the user has forgotten his/her password, he/she can reset the Netgear router by pushing any small, pointed object into the “Reset” button found on the bottom of the router. This will erase all content and configuration settings on the router and allow the user to access the control panel by using the default information.
