This is an error with Adobe Photoshop (usually the CS2) that comes up from time to time. After you have finished installing Photoshop, you need to activate the program. However, the following message may instead pop up, resulting in a failed activation.

This problem usually is a result of a bad activation code. No need to fret. Note that this does not mean that your copy of the Adobe Photoshop is illegal. It just means that your activation code is not valid due to potentially a slight error on Adobe’s part. Assuming that you are a legal license holder, you should be able to call Adobe and a representative will go through their procedure and give you with a new activation code.

For reference purposes, there are third party programs that do allow a user to fix this problem on their own. However, as a legal license holder, it is highly recommended to consult an Adobe representative, as most of these programs are illegal.
